First Master of Social Work students graduate from Northeastern Illinois University

Northeastern Illinois University experienced something new during Commencement on May 7: The first cohort of students from the Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) Program crossed the stage.

Mateo Farzaneh first heard of Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh as a child growing up in Iran in the 1970s. While he realized then that the name was important, Farzaneh could not have known that more than four decades later he would become intimately involved in an effort to memorialize and honor Iran’s first democratically elected prime minister.

STARTALK awards Northeastern grant to train Arabic-language educators

STARTALK, an organization whose mission is to increase the number of United States citizens learning, speaking and teaching critical need foreign languages, has awarded Northeastern Illinois University a $57,328 grant for a new Multilingual Learning Center (MLC) program.

Northeastern appoints six professors emeriti

Northeastern Illinois University has awarded emeritus status to six retiring faculty members. They will be honored during Commencement on May 7.

Northeastern awards the prestigious status to eligible retiring faculty members upon the recommendation of the department or program, with the concurrence of the dean and the provost, and with the approval of the University president.
